Messaging rules
Opt-in
- You may only send a marketing message to someone who has explicitly opted in to receive marketing from your business.
- Opt-in must be knowing and specific. A phone number harvested from an order form is not consent to marketing.
- We record when, where and how each opt-in was given, and you must be able to stand behind that record.
- You may not import a purchased or scraped list. Ever.
Opt-out
- STOP is honoured immediately and permanently, by the platform, without you having to do anything.
- You may not message someone again after they opt out, under a different template or a different number.
Frequency and windows
- Outside the 24-hour service window, only Meta-approved templates may be sent.
- Template categories must be honest. A marketing message dressed as a utility notification is a breach of both this policy and Meta’s.
- Marketing frequency is capped per contact per week. We enforce the cap.
Prohibited content
You may not use Botsmith to send, sell, promote or facilitate:
- Anything illegal where you or your customer is.
- Weapons, ammunition, explosives, or illegal drugs.
- Tobacco, vaping products, or alcohol where prohibited.
- Adult content, escort services, or gambling where prohibited.
- Counterfeit goods, stolen goods, or endangered wildlife.
- Multi-level marketing, pyramid schemes, or get-rich-quick offers.
- Unlicensed financial, medical, or legal advice.
- Hate speech, harassment, threats, or content that demeans a protected group.
- Misinformation about elections, public health, or emergencies.
Prohibited conduct
- Impersonating another business, a person, or Botsmith itself.
- Attempting to make a bot behave as a general-purpose assistant. Bots must stay within the business task they were built for.
- Probing, load-testing or attacking our systems, or another tenant’s data.
- Reselling access to Botsmith without a written agreement with us.
- Circumventing plan limits, rate limits or opt-out handling.
Regulated categories
Healthcare, financial services, legal services, education and any licensed trade may use Botsmith, but you are responsible for holding the licences your jurisdiction requires and for any disclosure it obliges you to make. A bot must never give clinical, financial or legal advice beyond the information you have published yourself.
Enforcement
We would rather warn you than suspend you. Where the breach is not severe we will tell you what is wrong and give you a chance to fix it.
- Severe or repeated breaches lead to immediate suspension.
- Anything that puts other customers’ numbers at risk is actioned immediately.
- We report to authorities where the law requires it.
- Suspension for breach does not entitle you to a refund.
To report abuse by a bot built on Botsmith, email support@botsmith.in with the number and a screenshot. We investigate every report.
